VPI &
Treatment Services
Vacuum pressure impregnation, varnishing, baking and insulation treatment for motors, generators, coils and rewound machines.
Punjab Electric Industries supports electrical winding reliability through VPI treatment, varnishing, impregnation, moisture removal, baking, curing and insulation strengthening for critical industrial rotating machines.

Insulation Treatment for
Reliable Electrical Windings
VPI, varnishing, baking and curing support for rewound and repaired electrical machines.
Electrical windings fail when insulation loses its ability to withstand voltage, heat, vibration, moisture, contamination and mechanical stress. In motors, generators and alternators, the insulation system must provide electrical separation, thermal transfer and mechanical stability. If voids, moisture pockets, loose windings or weak insulation remain inside the winding, the machine becomes more vulnerable to earth fault, shorted turns, partial discharge, overheating and repeated breakdown.
PEI provides VPI and treatment services to strengthen winding insulation after rewinding, coil replacement or repair. The service includes vacuum pressure impregnation, varnishing, impregnation, baking, curing, moisture removal and resin treatment for rewound machines, coils and electrical windings.
This page covers PEI’s treatment capability for improving insulation bonding, reducing moisture impact, filling internal voids and improving the reliability of repaired electrical machines.
KEY SERVICE AREAS
A focused range of winding treatment and insulation strengthening services.

VPI
Treatment
Vacuum pressure impregnation for motors, generators, alternators, coils and rewound machines requiring stronger insulation bonding.

Varnishing
Application of insulating varnish to protect windings from moisture, contamination and insulation deterioration.

Impregnation
Treatment of winding insulation with varnish or resin to improve bonding, dielectric performance and mechanical stability.

Baking / Curing
Controlled heating process used for moisture removal, varnish curing, resin curing and insulation stabilisation.

Moisture Removal from Windings
Drying and treatment support for windings affected by moisture ingress, low IR value or long idle condition.

Insulation
Strengthening
Treatment support for aged, repaired or rewound windings requiring improved insulation integrity.

Resin Treatment for Rewound Machines
Resin or varnish treatment after rewinding to improve winding bonding, insulation protection and long-term reliability.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITY
Key technical factors PEI considers in balancing and mechanical repair work.

Vacuum & Pressure Impregnation
VPI uses vacuum to remove trapped air and moisture from winding spaces, followed by pressure to help resin or varnish penetrate insulation voids.

Resin / Varnish Penetration
Proper impregnation helps fill voids between conductors, insulation layers, slots and end windings, reducing weak points inside the winding system.

Moisture Removal
Preheating and drying help remove moisture from windings before impregnation or varnishing, especially in machines with low insulation resistance.

Winding Bonding
Treatment helps bind winding conductors, insulation layers and end windings, reducing looseness and improving mechanical stability.

Dielectric Strength Support
A properly treated insulation system improves resistance to electrical stress and reduces the risk of insulation breakdown.

Mechanical Reinforcement
Impregnation supports the winding against vibration, electromagnetic forces, coil movement and mechanical wear.

Thermal Stability
Baking and curing stabilise the insulation system after resin or varnish application and support long-term operating reliability.

Contamination Protection
Varnish and resin treatment help protect windings from dust, oil, moisture and chemical contamination in industrial environments.

Resin-Rich /
VPI Compatibility
PEI can support treatment requirements depending on whether the winding or coil system is resin-rich, VPI-compatible or varnish-treated.

Testing-Backed Clearance
Treatment jobs can be supported by relevant electrical checks such as IR, PI, HV, surge, Tan Delta or no-load testing depending on machine type and job scope.
